Challenges & Future of OD of Challenges & Future of OD Organization development can be referred to as a plan that is prepared to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization in the long term to achieve its objective. It is a system that is responsible to promote organizational relationships. Moreover, it also deals with the scientific study and other related issues. The core values of organization behavior reflect the humanistic values (Brown, 2011). A model that represents the organization development includes six stages:1.

Anticipate need for change2. Develop the practitioner-client relationship3. The diagnostic phase4. Action plans, strategies and techniques5. Self-renewal, monitor and stabilizeIn any organization, employees are concerned about their future as to how and what the organization is planning for them. The curiosity of the old and loyal employees increases with time, and they ask more questions frequently about the ways the organization will manage their relationship wit the company and their reward on retirement.

These questions are considered to be a challenge for the organization development. Organizations need to plan, develop and implement ways to motivate employees and show their loyalty and sincerity to their employees with the same enthusiasm. Another challenge for organizations is to maintain a peaceful environment for its workers (Cummings & Worley, 2014). Organization development faces risks when cases of discrimination arise in the organization on the basis of gender, age, and other unethical issues.

Organization development is, therefore, responsible for avoiding such acts of discrimination to maintain the reputation of the firm. The future of organization development seems to be bright and promising. Unfortunately, there are some factors that can cause hindrance in the success of the organizational development. Factors that determine the future of organization include values of organizational management, training level of employees and spreading of information about OD techniques. Additionally, global economic changes, latest technology, and social & political environment could have a significant effect on the future of organization development (Bradford & Burke, 2005).
